Howdy folks!
I know I'd mentioned it before (and intended to do the transition last month) but there were a few delays and now I'm finally getting around to it.
Just a friendly reminder that I will be restructuring how I price my commissions soon (for personal art... commercial should stay essentially the same. I wanted to remind people in case you wanted to get a last-minute commission onto the queue at current prices.
Cheers!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do you need for a quote? What I typically need is a good description of how you want the picture to look, what type of style you want the picture to be in, and as many references as you can provide. If you don't have references a good description should suffice. just know that the more specific you are, the easier it is for me to create what you're imagining. Although I can imitate many different art styles, you need to let me know specifically that you want this. Otherwise I will assume that you want the piece done in my normal comic art style.
How will this affect current commissions? If you already have a commission either on the wait list (I've given you a general quote on your piece and you've yet to pay) or in the queue (you have paid but I have not done your piece) your current pieces will be unaffected by the price change. Once I release the new set of prices, however, from that moment forward all new commission quotes will be based on that price.
How are your future commissions going to be priced? My prices are governed predominantly by how much time, effort, and interaction is required to produce a piece. The more expensive pieces have the expectation that I will be working in multiple passes, interacting with the person commissioning the piece in order to ensure that their piece turns out how they want. That being said, I put a lot of time and effort into each and every one of my pieces. I always strive for a fast turnaround and professional service.
I provide my pricing structure as a ballpark way of estimating how much a piece will cost before you ask me for a quote. I always provide no-obligation quotes free of charge, so if you'd like to know how much something would cost, feel free to ask! You in no way are required to go with me for the final piece. Should you choose to commission another artist or find a better deal elsewhere, by all means! I'm just glad you're supporting artists as a whole!
Future commissions will be broken into three main tiers - Speed Character Illustrations/Headshots, Character Illustrations, and Digital Paintings.
The first group, which includes portraits and full-character drawings in a faster, more cartoony style will have a fast turnaround and will likely have a minimal amount of interaction between steps. You tell me what you want, I draw the whole thing, I send you the result. These will be lower price, providing more "affordable" commissions for many people. Think cartoon strip level illustration. These prices will be similar to my current prices, so they shouldn't change much.
The second tier of Character Illustrations encompasses comic art and comic art pinup style illustrations, of the quality level you'd expect on a comic book cover. This tier takes a lot more time, involves client approval at each step, and I typically invest several hours into each piece. You pay for level of detail, attention, and modifications.
Digital paintings are just what they sound like. Full-blown digital illustrations of the subject matter of your choosing. As these often take in the order of multiple days of working exclusively to complete, they are priced in a different bracket altogether and require a custom quote. Anything that falls outside these two categories will require a custom quote, so just message me if you have any questions.
Prices vary depending upon the complexity of the piece. Does your character have intricate armor? Expect it to cost more. Does it have a crazy background with lots of detail? Expect it to cost more. Etc. Etc.
I see the majority of your commissions are digital. Do you offer traditional art commissions? What do they look like?I often produce digital commissions because I find them fast and easy to do. I do traditional commissions as well. They look... nearly identical to the digital ones. Same styles, same skills. Traditional require custom quote as they incur additional materials cost and shipping (if you want the physical copy).
What other services do you offer?I offer prints in a variety of sizes. If you commissioned a piece, you get the opportunity to purchase prints of your artwork at a heavily discounted price. I offer several sizes, including 5x7, 8x10, 11x17. I now have the capability of producing laminated con badges and custom trading card game tokens (a relatively popular addition).
Where do you ship?I mainly ship to the United States. If you live outside the US, shipping will incur an additional fee.
Will you drop your prices for me, or do you offer any sort of discounts?Depends on what you're ordering. Sometimes I'll knock off a few bucks if you're ordering a bunch of art. This is more the case with prints, as I include the price of shipping in the prints I make. Don't be afraid to ask.
I love your art and would love one of your pieces, but I don't have any money. Will you do a trade?I don't usually do trades with folks. Too many variables that can go wrong on both sides. But it doesn't hurt to ask. Just know that my typical response will be no.
What about collaborations?Like trades, feel free to ask, but the chances are still likely no. I am currently in several collaborative projects and can't really take on any more without delaying my commissions, which is something I never want to do.
What about requests? Do you do free requests?Seriously?
Your prices are too high.Actually they're on the low side for artists that do work similar to mine.
I have a friend who does art better than yours that only charges a few dollars per drawing.Really? Seriously dude you should be commissioning the crap out of this friend! That's one heck of a deal!
Will you match the prices of this other artist I found on the internet? No.
Are you a nice person?I like to think I am.
